Where do you do your shoots?

My photography technique manipulates natural light readily available, no flash or artificial lighting is used, so I mostly shoot on location outdoors. The only time I’ve ever had to reschedule a photo shoot is when it is raining outside, which here in Sacramento doesn’t happen all too often. However, this does not limit photo sessions to only the outdoors, natural light can be found inside by windows, doors, and open verandas.

What is your photography technique?

I specialize in this technique because I find it provides a more relaxed and natural feel to the photographs and it allows me to capture you, your family or your children as they really are. Without the limits of the old studio and all its cumbersome lighting equipment I am able to adapt quickly and move freely in order to be there at the right time and place to capture that special moment that will remembered for a lifetime. It also provides the flexibility to have your photographs taken in your child’s bedroom, your backyard or favorite family location.

Where should I have my shoot?

If you are stumped for location ideas let me know, I am happy to share with you some of my favorite locales which are parks, barns, farms, orchards, creeks abandoned buildings or sometimes simply a spot on the side of a back country road that’s caught my eye!

What makes a good shoot location?

Every location is different and changes depending on the time of year, this provides spontaneity and is a fun experience where you are welcome to provide suggestions and ideas. Please take a moment to view  my portfolio and up-to-date previews of recent sessions on my blog. Get a feel of the locations and a familiarity with my style so you can pick the location that will best showcase your family and/or complement  your decor, where ultimately I hope your fine art print will be proudly displayed!

What does the session fee cover?

The session fee covers my time, talent and travel within 20 miles of the Rocklin area. It also encompasses basic image processing, design time, basic digital retouching, and order processing. Minor skin problems such as scars, acne, discoloration, dark circles, wrinkles, will be removed from your final prints. That’s why you pay me the big bucks!

It does not however include any prints, click on ‘rates’ page below to view print & other product prices. Locations over 20 miles is charged an additional fee.

What is your cancellation policy?

In case for some reason you are unable to make your session date and 48 hours notice is given, we will reschedule you to the next available session date. However, if no notice is given, or you do not show up to your session your session deposit is not refunded and a new deposit is required to book a new session date. If your child is ill on the day of session please call as soon as possible to make arrangements for another session date.

How should I be prepared for my session?

Your session can last anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes.  Clothing should be kept simple and logos avoided. Bright vivid colors always look good and group shots should have coordinating – not necessarily matching outfits. Some of my favorite stores & labels are: J. Crew, Zara, Forever 21 kids, Pumpkin Patch, The Childrens Place, Gapkids,  Abercrombie, Anthropologie, Old Navy, United Colors of Benetton, Janie and Jack. Please feel free to e-mail any questions you have in the styling department or visit my Pinterest board titled “Kids Style”. You are also encouraged to bring a 3-4 clothing options, especially for the kids, and additional accessories like hats, glasses, scarfs, favorite toys, gloves, boots, headbands and hair clips.

When will my I see the results of my session?

Approximately 14 days after your photo shoot you will receive notice that your gallery is ready to be uploaded, once you’re ready to view you will be sent a custom link to access your online gallery. Approximately 30-40 images will be displayed, and some samples of black & white. You are welcome to share personal gallery link with family and friends.

How long will my gallery be available?

Due to the number of clients and photo galleries that need attention, only 7 days is given for you to view and order from your gallery if at the end of this time no orders are received your gallery will be removed. A processing fee of $50 will be required to re-upload your gallery. So please make sure you have the necessary time available to make your decisions before your gallery is uploaded.

Are your rates negotiable?

It is important to me to remain fair to all clients and consistent in business policy, therefore rates and policies are non-negotiable. Please check the blog frequently where current specials and promotions will be posted.
